Mecca Bingo
Mecca Bingo is wildly popular and is a true tourist attraction. People come from miles around to play mecca bingo each day and each week. Bingo cards are made of either cardboard or paper and the playing surface bears a printed design of five rows of five squares each, forming 25 total squares in all. On a mecca bingo card, the letters B-I-N-G-O appear above this design, each letter above one of the vertical columns. All the squares contain numbers except the center square, which is considered a free play. The numbers are arranged on the card, too. The first vertical row on the left under the letter B contains any five numbers from the group one through 15. The second vertical row on the left under the letter I has any five numbers from the group 16 through 30. Under the N, the center vertical row, there are only four numbers because you also have a free space. The N row uses four numbers between 31 through 45. The free space in the center of the card is always considered a covered square or a free play. Under the G in the fourth vertical row there are any five numbers from the group 46 through 60. And under the O in the fifth row there are any five numbers from the group 61 through 75. Mecca Bingo Online In mecca bingo, two or three bingo cards are pasted to a large heavy cardboard called a lapboard. This keeps the players from taking the cards home as souvenirs, and the board can then also serve as the table. Some mecca bingo games don’t require markers, either. They use finger tip bingo cards where slides can be moved to cover each of the card’s 25 squares. Mecca Bingo Club Locations The bingo cage is the large bowl from which the numbered balls are selected and then called. The bingo cage is a spherical wire-mesh cage about 9 ½ inches in diameter in which the bingo balls are placed. It is mounted on a wooden or metal base and has a crank-turning ball-selecting device. There are 75 bingo balls, each of which bears one of the letters of the word bingo and a number. The B balls bear the numbers from the one through 15 group, the I balls have the numbers from the 16 through 30 group, and so on. It’s the same letter grouping arrangements as the mecca bingo cards.
